God, in His infinite wisdom and love, orchestrated a divine restructuring of the Israelite's calendar. This intentional act served as more than just a mere adjustment of dates and seasons; it was a profound invitation to transform their very identity. And the remarkable truth is that God desires to do the same for each one of us today. He longs to recalibrate our hearts and minds, aligning them with His perfect will and purpose. In the Lord's Prayer, Jesus beautifully teaches us to humbly come before God and ask for our daily bread – the sustenance that we need to nourish our bodies and sustain our lives. This simple yet profound request for food serves as a powerful reminder of our unwavering dependence on Jesus, not just for our physical nourishment but for every aspect of our lives.

The Bible Doesn't Say That "God won't give you more than you can handle."  Sometimes God brings us to the end of our own strength to teach us to look to Him rather than to ourselves or to others. When we learn to trust in His strength rather than our own, we find that we can endure in peace and in joy, even when God takes us beyond what we can bear.

Everyone has an opinion, attitude, and past when it comes to money.  The Bible Doesn't Say That (1) money is the root of all evil; nor does it say (2) obedience always leads to financial blessings. As we look at what the Bible really says, we learn to be wise and generous stewards of what we possess.

Preachers have said that God does not care about your happiness but rather your holiness.  In this message, we try to correct the idea that being happy and being holy are mutually exclusive.  Rather, God wants us to be happy but not at any cost.

In the message we tackle one of the most quote and misunderstood verses, "Do not judge, or you too will be judged" (Matthew 7:1).  Christians are charged with encouraging and holding each other accountable when we are struggling with sin in our lives, but we are called to do so without burdening each other with ungodly judgment and shame.

There are many phrases used among churchgoers that sound Scriptural yet are contrary to what Scripture actually teaches. These erroneous beliefs about God and our Christian walk can be damaging rather than helpful. This five-week series looks at common misconceptions and what Scripture actually tells us about how believers should approach these situations in life.

 

In our first installment of this series, we look at how the belief that “God helps those who help themselves” often feeds an unhealthy mindset that we alone are responsible for our fulfillment, security, and well-being.

We will be hindered from embracing God's truth until we address the root of our doubt.  Three primary roots are: church hurt, intellectual, and moral.  To move forward we must confess and repent of unforgiveness, pride, and selfishness.
